You can show the values of an archived property on maps without restoring it. The property remains archived and its values remain read-only.
You need library administrator access and permission to manage properties to change these settings. Normal process and shape viewing restrictions still apply.
Set the library default
- Open Properties in Library Settings.
- Select the Archived Properties tab.
- In Archived values on maps, choose Hide them or Show them where they have a value.
The setting saves when you change it. The initial library default is Hide them. A change affects properties using Default; individual Show or Hide choices take precedence.
Choose a setting for one property
- Find the property in Archived Properties.
- Use the selector in its On maps column.
- Choose the required setting. It saves when changed.
- Default (show) or Default (hide) follows the library's current default.
- Show where it has a value displays retained, nonblank values, regardless of the default.
- Hide keeps the values stored but hides their archived-value presentation.
Groups do not store captured values, so they have no individual map visibility selector.
Where values appear
Eligible process values appear in the map's property information. Activity and deliverable values appear in the selected shape's property information. Retained values can also appear in configured map-node fields where that configuration remains.
Archived entries are identified in the property information. A configured node field may keep its custom label. Empty or whitespace-only values are not displayed.
For example, to show an archived Legacy Reference on maps that have a reference recorded, choose Show where it has a value for that property. Maps without a retained value will not gain an empty archived entry.
What this setting changes
These settings control presentation on supported map views. They do not reactivate the property for editing or add it back to every list, filter, report or export. To use it as an active property again, see Archive and Restore Properties.
The current visibility settings also apply when viewing drafts and historical map versions. Changing a setting can therefore change how an older version is displayed today.
If a value is missing
Check that the property is archived, the map or selected shape has a retained nonblank value, and its individual setting is Show or Default with a Show library default. You must also have permission to view the process and shape. If you expect a value in a map-node field, check that the field is still configured.
