Decision

Decisions are a type of Activity, usually in the form of a question, where only one of the potential outputs is produced.

Decisions are a type of Activity, usually in the form of a question, where only one of the potential outputs is produced, causing the Process Map to branch. For example, the question ‘Internal or External customer?’ would then branch into two pathways depending on which option is selected.

Decisions can be either Internal or External:

Decision

Internal Decisions - often simply called Decisions - are activities where the question is answered within your organisation and fall inside the scope of the overall Process Map. For example, if a customer is external or internal.

External Decision

External Decisions are activities where the question is answered outside of your organisation and fall outside the scope of the overall Process Map. For example, a customers decision to go ahead with work you have proposed or not.
